Revised CGHS package rates notified; 84 new empanelled hospitals added
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has notified revised package rates for the Central Government Health Scheme, covering consultation charges, room rent, and 178 diagnostic and surgical procedures.
OPD consultation has been revised to Rs 350 and inpatient consultation to Rs 500. Room rent for a general ward is fixed at Rs 1,500 a day, semi-private at Rs 3,000 and private at Rs 4,500, linked to the pay level of the beneficiary.
Eighty-four hospitals and 21 diagnostic centres have been added to the empanelled list across 14 CGHS cities, with Bhubaneswar and Raipur receiving their first cashless tertiary-care tie-ups.
Beneficiaries have been reminded that referral for treatment at an empanelled private hospital continues to require a prescription from a CGHS Wellness Centre medical officer, except in emergencies.
